LAPD Officer Shoots, Wounds Suspected Robber A Los Angeles police officer shot a robbery suspect and wounded him Wednesday at an electronics store near the Metro Red Line Station at Vermont Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. Officers were responding to a call of an armed robbery at the store at about 1 p.m. They chased the suspect on foot, but the suspect turned and stabbed one of the officers, prompting them to open fire, Los Angeles police Officer Marjan Mobasser said. The officer suffered a cut on the head.

Man Charged With Murder In Deadly Home Care Fire A man who allegedly admitted setting fire to the Perris care home where he lived, killing one person and injuring two others, was charged Wednesday with murder and a special circumstance allegation that could result in the death penalty if he's convicted. Daniel Konold, 28, was scheduled to make his initial appearance Wednesday afternoon at the Riverside courthouse.
